Savko Undergraduate Awards Announced!

The Center for the Study of Religion is pleased to announce the recipients of its inaugural Savko Undergraduate Research Grant and Best Undergraduate Essay awards.

Michelle Sdao, a third-year History major, received the research award to fund her travel to the 2017 National Collegiate Research Conference at Harvard University, where she presented her work on intra-Christian polemical tactics during Late Antiquity and the Reformation, including their origins, motives, and implications.

Dillon Sampson, now a recent graduate with a B.A. in Religious Studies, received the award for Best Undergraduate Essay for his research thesis “A Most Savage Art: Hegemony, Ideology, and Human Sacrifice.”
