Presenters provide attendees with a one-page summary of their current research and attendees engage in a lively discussion. March's lecture will feature Ishmael Konney, and the title of his presentation is "W)gb3j3k3." W)gb3j3k3 is a phrase from the Ga people, who are located in the southeast coast of present day Ghana. The phrase means “we have journeyed far / we come from far away.” It can also mean “we have a long way to go.” Thus, it can be used to describe a past journey or future journey. In this presentation, Ishmael will talk about his research on the migration of the Ga people from Israel to their present location in the southeast coast of Ghana. Ishmael Konney is a graduate teaching associate in the Department of Dance. His areas of experience include African dancing/drumming, contemporary dance, Afrodance and choreography.  This event is free and open to the public. Co-hosted by the Humanities Institute.  You can download Ishmael's page through the PDF link below.  The Humanities Institute and its related centers host a wide range of events, from intense discussions of works in progress to cutting-edge presentations from world-known scholars, artists, and activists, and everything in between. In our current moment of riding the unpredictable currents of the pandemic, we reaffirm the value of in-person engagement. We strive to amplify the energy in the room. But we also recognize the need to be careful and the fact that not all our guests will be able to visit our space. We, therefore, will continue to offer Zoom access to all our events upon request. If you wish to have such access, please send your request to religion@osu.edu or finver.1@osu.edu. 198A Hagerty Hall Center for the Study of Religion religion@osu.edu America/New_York public
