His lecture, like all others in the Center for the Study of Religion-sponsored series, is free and open to all. There will be a brief question-and-answer session and a reception following the lecture.

The lecture will be held in the Whetstone Shelter House at 3901 N High Street, Columbus, OH 43214

Abstract: What does religion in Ohio sound like? In this talk, Professor Weiner will introduce the American Religious Sound Project, an ongoing research initiative to document and interpret the diversity of American religious life by attending to its varied sonic cultures. Professor Weiner will invite input and feeback from the audience and will also provide information about how interested community members might get involved.
